November update

Here's an update...it's long so get ready.

I have tried to get back on the wagon, weighing myself again, bringing lunch at work, not going out to fast food every chance I get.
Not quite there again, but steps in the right direction.

My bf has been trying really hard at losing weight and that helps me because there is no more drive thrus for us.

I have gained so much weight that I need to give in and buy winter clothes. Especially a winter coat.
We are on our way to Boston next weekend, so any of my followers from the great USA give me tips on good plus size clothes store. The only one I know of is Lane Bryant.

I did get a call from a weight loss surgeon last week.... here's the background.
5 years ago I went to my doctor to get help losing my weight. I was offered three things.
1.diet and exercise (mainly her suggestion due to her own experience weight watchers)
2. diet pills... well after a visit to a heart specialist I was told I was not a candidate.
3. gastric bypass(I agreed to be on the waiting list)

One year passed and I called the clinic to see how long that wait list was... I was told at least 3 years. So I marched into a weight watchers and did it myself.
Now unless you are new to my blog, you are aware that worked out for me for 2 years.
I am off the wagon and emotionally beat so doing it alone does not seem feasible to me anymore.

So 2005-2010 I never heard from them and now I get a call...
I have thought for it for over a week and finally decided to at least go for a consultation.
If I do get something done it will Lap Band and not gastric bypass..
I am looking at it as a tool to help me back on my feet. I know all too well it's not a magic pill.

My date is December the 8 so I will know more then.

If you have suggestions on where to shop for plus size clothes in the states , or would like to give your two cents about surgery, feel free to leave a comment.

Good luck at your appointment!

Lane Bryant is probably the best plus size store, but you can also find cute clothes in most Maurice's.

I am just happy to see a post from you! I think you need to do what works best for you- see what the Dr. say's at the consultation appointment! :)

I just came across your health and fitness blog. Your article about getting back on the bandwagon was especially interesting. I especially liked your comments about using weight loss surgery as a tool to help you reach your goals, and not the be all that ends all to your weight loss goals. I am adding you to my favorites. Since you and your readers are interested in health and fitness, we thought you would like to check out our ab workout machine called The AbStand. The AbStand is a full-body workout machine that provides an easy way for you to keep your New Year's resolution! Any feedback would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
